Connet
When I had just moved in, I once posted on the Mangrove app community:
“Anyone up for a walk and chat along Gyeongui Line Forest Path today?”
Someone replied—a Thai member who graduated from a university in Japan—and we ended up having a great time chatting in a mix of Korean, English, and Japanese. Since then, we’ve stayed in touch, even going to the Deoksugung Disney exhibition together.
I also played badminton in October at Wausan Park with four women who live at Mangrove. Through MSC programs and more meetups on the app, I hope to keep meeting and getting closer with other Mangrovers.
My most memorable moment was going to Pungnyeon Dakdoritang in Sinchon with the Thai member I first met. We’re very different in many ways, but our personalities clicked, and the conversation flowed so naturally. Even though we hadn’t known each other for long, we ended up having deep conversations. Visiting new places was fun, of course, but what stayed with me most was sharing spicy food and talking about life in multiple languages—that’s what made it truly special.
