The 1st Mangrove Photo Exhibition

We decided to start with a simple theme: photography. Up until now, we’ve only caught glimpses of how Mangrovers* live in Mangrove spaces—through the snapshots they’ve shared on social media. But we wanted to go a little deeper. We opened this photo exhibition in the hope that more residents would capture and share their daily moments through their own lens—and that for some, it might even plant a seed of interest in photography.

*Mangrovers: That’s what we call the neighbors who live in Mangrove.

As a thank-you to everyone who joined the event, we gifted them an upcycled Mangrove film camera.

Mangrove and the Neighborhood

The theme was simple: "Mangrove and the Neighborhood." We didn’t want this to be a formal event just for professional photographers. We hoped it would feel as light and easy as daily life itself. By the end of the event, over 300 photos were submitted. They captured everything from neighborhood landmarks and cozy corners of home to glittering nightscapes and the warmth of local markets. Through these images, we saw Mangrovers’ affection—for their spaces, their routines, and their surroundings.

From Mangrove Soongin, our very first coliving house, to Mangrove Sinchon, nestled in a youthful university neighborhood — take a look at the everyday moments captured across different corners of Seoul.
